Had my first root canal treatment today...
Procedure:
The dentist injects the gums surrounding the infected tooth with Local anesthetic to numb the tooth, before the tooth is drilled to reach the nerve endings. And X-ray is then taken to confirm the inner structure of the tooth. Next, a rubber mask is put into the patient's mouth to surround the tooth. More Local anesthetic is then injected before the nerves are being scrapped out with a super fine needle-like drill, which is sucked up a small vacuum. Antibiotics is then administered to prevent any infections before the tooth is filled up...
Okay, it may seem okay for you just reading this, but there are some reality checks I want people to take note of...
1) The rubber mask is extremely uncomfortable 'cause it feel as though you are trying to eat an inflated balloon.
2) I had 4 shots of Local anesthetic and it STILL hurts.
3) The whole operation was 1 hour.
4) This is ONLY the first session; I have two more sessions and each costs S$450.
5) The pain after the Local anesthetic wears off is CRAZY LIKE NO TOMMORROW!!!!!
6) I can't talk; the tooth hurts.
Somehow, since I am used to not talking, 6) is the most easiest thing for me to do.
And since tommorow got NPCC training, and since KIWI is now SSG~... He will take command~!
Let's just hope everyone does not die laughing...
