You said it…
Sorry for not updating earlier. I was busy with helping out around my grandmother’s house.
Apparently, my cousin’s maid went home for a month, so now I have been ‘allocated’ the duty of taking care of some of the housework at my grandmother’s house…
The rest of the time was used to type an “offline”, due to my uneven schedule.
It IS a long post, after all…
Everyone, ganbatte~!
YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE HELPING OUT TOO!
YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE HELPING OUT TOO!
Well then, here’s my experience of my Japan Trippppppppppp~!
(Background sound of a certain somebody being chased around by two others in a virtual space, only to be caught and dragged back for extra work…)

06-12-2009 Sunday
Ok… that plane ride was exhausting…
Yeah, since I could not sleep a wink AT ALL~!
Reach Japan in the morning after a night flight…
Ah~ I want to sleep… but can’t.
We first went to our hotel to deposit our luggages, before I was (reluctantly) dragged around the city streets…
Tokyo’s streets are no different from Singapore’s, just that the clothes style of the people were rather… unique…
Visited one of the places famous for its long stretch of Gingko trees~!
We went there in autumn, so most of the leaves were on the ground…
Walked a little further, and managed to catch a glimpse of a ‘Change-of-season’ Festival.
Then had beef rice for lunch…
We ordered through a vending machine~! So cute*
On our way to a park, we manage to see a store vendor making traditional rice cakes.
Too bad we didn’t eat any…
Chanced upon a cosplay café too… Some of the costumes were displayed outside…
And no; I did not go in…
On our way to a park to see the maple trees, we saw some people in cosplays (I think?).
My parents just HAD to take a picture with one of them…
... which by the way (sorry, no offence) looks absolutely NOTHING like cosplay...
Finally reached the park…
Lookie at the maple leaves~!
Saw some people in their seasonal kimonos too…
Checked into the hotel before going to dinner…
Another vending machine… What’s with people and vending machines?
Even saw one selling cigarettes earlier~!
After dinner, went up to the 42nd story of a building nearby for the view of Tokyo city…
Looks nice, but at that point of time, my phobia of heights acted up…
Go Figure…

07-12-2009 Monday
After breakfast, took the express train to Hakone, a town in Tokyo.
Later took the tram up the mountains…
Had lunch, looked around somemore, and went to look at the plants in their botanic gardens.
Or rather, the October Sakura, which is the only species of sakuras in bloom currently.
Travelled to the next hotel in a cable car…
... which once again triggered my phobia of heights...
(Just so you know, I only knew of these photos after the whole experience; My dad took these photos when I was in my trance-state…)
We were staying in an onsen hotel… and they are very traditional…
Both before and after dinner, my mum and I went to the onsen (hot springs).
…
No comments here…
Except that it was EXTREMELY EMBARASSING to bare it all IN FRONT OF ALL THE FEMALES~!
My mum just had to make the stupid comment “There’s nothing to hide; we’re all females.”
Yeah, EXCEPT FOR THE FACT THAT I’M NOT USED TO EXPOSING MY BODY TO OTHERS SINCE 5 YEARS OLD!!!
I seriously wonder how she can get accustomed to this…
Well~ it’s not as bad as dad…
Why?
He asked why didn’t we take any pictures there…
?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
And he even asked my brother to take his picture wh-
THAT HENTAI SIDE OF HIM SHOULD JUST GO SMASH HS HEAD IN A WALL!!!

08-12-2009 Tuesday
Wah~! The meals were really elaborate and extremely delicious~!
By the way, my mum booked a family onsen for that morning…
AND for obvious reasons we were allowed to wear our swimming gear…
Wonder why they didn’t allow us to do so in the regular onsen? I’m still highly sensitive about it…
Dunno…
After breakfast, we continued our ascend in Hakone…
... which just so happen to be in a…
... god-damn cable car…
WHAT IS IT WITH ALL THESE ACTIVITIES?!
Once again, I refrained from looking down by looking up… but turned momentarily for…
... Ne ne~! Mite, mite... Mount Fuji~!
But right after that, I accidentally looked down…
Great… Phobia triggered AGAIN…
After getting off, we visited the sulfur mines…
Where all that sulfur dioxide and hydrogen sulfide smelled like rotten eggs and irritated my eyes…
Took another stupid cable car ride to the pier (not the stop where we started from)…
Seriously, one of these days I need to make an important mental note for my mum to REMEMBER to stop arranging all these activities which have HEIGHTS~
Had packed lunch before taking a boat ride…
Not very particular about boat rides, so forgotten to take pictures…
Gome…
Visited a shrine when we got off the boat…
Just for the heck of it, my bro prayed for a good entry to the school he chooses (which I have until now no idea what it is) and I prayed for good ‘O’ level results for all of this year’s Fuhua Sec 4s…
On the way, my bro bought a miniature toy katana for 400 yen…
After that, we took a bus to our next hotel.
09-12-2009 Wednesday
Great… Dad’s sick…
Limits what we could do for the day…
After breakfast, we visited the Venetian glass Museum.
I bet Nusrat would love to go there~!
There were many types of Venetian glass on display (I cannot upload all of the photos here due to the lack of disc space) but this was one of them that I liked in particular~!
My bro and I also made our own customized glass pieces: My bro made a keychain and I made a pendant.
After lunch in the Italian restaurant there, we explored a bit more before taking the train back to Tokyo and letting my dad rest…

10-12-2009 Thursday
Dad was feeling better, so we went out to look around Tokyo.
No. We are not in New York… It is just an imitation...
Obvious since Rainbow Bridge is in the Background. (You’ll know why it is called that way later…)
Visited a car showroom…
Seriously, can my dad just STOP thinking about getting a new car?
Didn’t really do much there… C’mon~! It’s a CAR SHOWROOM!!!
My Bro played Go-kart…
I took some driving simulation test…
Surprisingly, I got a ‘B’~!
Also noticed a table soccer corner (I think that was its name…) Played with my bro…
Result: He won the first 3 games, but I won the next 10…
He got seriously pissed, so played with my mum…
He won by 1 point…
…
Visited Fuji TV station after explore the nearby shopping centres after lunch.
Considerably interesting…
Had pizza for dinner…
See~? This is why this is called Rainbow Bridge…
I initially thought that it was some weird kiddie place...

11-12-2009 Friday
Dad’s illness got worse…
And it was raining…
Stay inside the whole morning taking care of him
But was eventually dragged out to Ginza for shopping by my mother as she was bored…
BRRR~! So cold~!
Uhhh…

12-12-2009 Saturday
Dad was feeling better; but I got a little sick….
Not used to eating Japanese food everyday for every meal, I guess…
We went to look at Tokyo’s famous fish market…
…
I am not particular about going out, but the extremely large crowd was making me feel even more uncomfortable…
... which obviously made me very grumpy, much to my parents’ dissatisfaction…
I refused to take any medication, but was eventually forced to eat by my parents’ equally persistent behavior…
Result: Allergy Reaction; Swollen face.
What is worse than falling ill and not taking medication would definitely be getting an allergic reaction because you TOOK medication.
I really have to remind my mum to bring along those medication that I am NOT allergic to…
So, I couldn’t go look around in Asakusa… *sobs…
My dad brought me back to the hotel to rest for the rest of the afternoon.
Rest… for the rest of the afternoon…
This is not time for puns…
After the allergy subsided (though my face was still a bit swollen), we went out for dinner and went to the Tokyo tower…
Last day in Japan, so no matter what, my mum wanted to drag me around Ameyoko for shopping…
Even though I was not feeling very well…
Dragged from one store to another…
Resolution: Accept whatever she wants to buy before she goes overboard.
Since I was not having much of an appetite, my mum got Takoyaki (Fried Octopus balls)
…
For someone like me who have no appetite, I managed to finish off the entire plate~!
Bought a few more things, before getting on the train to the airport…
______________________________________________
Well, I guess that’s that…
Yup~!
Sorry for the lack of photos… Blogspot is unable to support too many photos…
Oh and by the way, my mum is still in Japan on business trip, and she claim that she was going to buy back a skirt for me...
Great...
Merged into one crazy psychopath
